The Remount
SOLD OUT SEASON
After a successful debut in March 2020, Discotheque is bringing back a return season of Funk (ad)- winner of ‘Best in Fringe’ and ‘Momentous Movement’ award to kick off BATS Theatres’ first live show back after the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown period.
Back by popular demand, this witty, athletic show returned to the stage for a sold out season in June 2020.
The work was remounted over a week with new and existing dancers, also allowing an opportunity for four NZ School of Dance students to second to the process with two being able to perform.
Throughout the week Elekis Poblete Teirney and Holly Newsome worked closely together on pushing the technical elements of the show to create a bolder, more vibrant version of the show to ultimately achieve a very immersive remount.
We were also given the opportunity to film the show throughout the week through 4 cameras/angles which will eventuate into a professional filmed version of the work. Thank you to Conor Lui (Wrestler), Tane Hipango, BATS Theatre and Kaitlyn Johnston for helping with this section of the process.
Choreographed by Holly Newsome in collaboration with the dancers
